this is a good additional as a garmen accessory. easy to put up and take down. stays in place. makes it possible for both front seat people to see without straining necks. my husband says he can see a lot easier using this bean bag to put the garment on. we're 2 old people trying to make our lives easier. this little gadget filled that bill. we recommend it. it is kind of ugly, but who cares? maybe they should think of a neutral color like beige or grey or tan instead of only black. some guy is probably in charge of marketing. i don't want pink, just a few color choices. -- takes the worry out of falling

This is our second Garmin Portable Mount purchase. This one was purchased as a gift along with an new Garmin 265WT for our adult daughter and spouse. We have used OUR Garmin Portable Mount for more than 2 years and have NO issues or complaints. It stays put on your dash regardless of any radical driving manuevers, and does not mar the dash surface.
Since thieves look for the permanently mounted GPS elbow or the telltale suction cup circle on the windshield to identify what cars have GPS units, the Garmin Portable mount is easily stowed in the glove box, console, or trunk.

I bought this item after my suction cup mount stopped sticking. Wouldn't you know it, the day after I ordered this, the suction cup mount gave out while I was driving & dropped my gps onto the middle console of my car. It hit hard enough to break the on/off switch. Really ticked me off! Not only was my gps broken, but I was now lost downtown. Thankfully my gps unit was replaced & I immediately put its suction cup out of sight. No way will I use that again. This friction mount is perfect. It's easy to use, easy to move whenever needed, stays put, & I'm not scared of it sending my gps unit flying. -- Perfect
